Purchasing and getting started with FOXFIRE
I have been examining using FOXFIRE for a while now. In fact, I purchased a copy about two years ago but never got a chance it integrate it in our products.
We are now ready do this and would like to purchase copies for the users my our products. Could you please answer the following questions:

1. What do I need to purchase and what are the relevant prices if I need to integrate FOXFIRE! in both web and desktop applications ?
2. What do I need to purchase and the relevant prices to give my users the ability to design reports ?
3. How does the activation process work for the product?
4. Is the license per user or per machine?
5. if it is per  machine, does this mean that each machine must be activated individually?
6. What is the procedure if we need to re-install the product?
7. How does the mobility option work?
8. Please explain the designing administrator option and if I need to purchase it also for users and developer.

Please also give any other relevant information that you think I may need in trying to get started.

Re: Purchasing and getting started with FOXFIRE
Rastaman, if you contact our sales department they will be able to help you with your specifics however.

1. Foxfire! for Windows provides a free runtime for users who only need to run reports. To integrate it into your application, you need to purchase a developer edition for each developer doing the integration. ($395). The Windows/Web developer edition gives you a personal web version for integration testing. ($495)
The Web version requires a server license as well as individual licenses for runtime and designers - please email licensing@micromegasystems.com for more details on pricing on the web version.

2. You can purchase a 5 designer license ($495) or 3 designer license ($395) for users to be able to design reports.

3. When the application starts, it will validate the user's computer for use of Foxfire! as a designer. If there is no validation, it connects to our activation system and verifies that the client (or your company) has sufficient licenses and will then activate that customer's machine. If there is a problem connecting to the activation server, this can be done online at www.foxfirereporting.com/ff/license.asp

4. The License is per machine/per user.

5. Yes, each machine needs to be activated individually.

6. If you are reinstalling the product, you can save the license file or send us an email and we can reset your activation counter.

7. The mobility option is suggested for developers who want to run Foxfire! on two machines (such as a desktop and laptop) for the same user.

8. Designing Administrator provides access to the Administrator tools (FFADMIN.EXE) - where users can modify data items, report sets and relationships. Otherwise, designers only have the ability to create and modify reports.

Let me know if you have further questions.
